What Contract Shield Does and Does Not Provide

Contract Shield is an AI-powered contract analysis tool. It provides automated risk identification, clause explanation, and missing protection analysis based on trained legal models. It is designed to help non-lawyers understand their contracts better and to help legal professionals work more efficiently.

Contract Shield does not provide legal advice. The output of Contract Shield's analysis is informational in nature. It identifies potential risks and explains contract language in plain English — it does not constitute legal counsel, and no attorney-client relationship is created through use of the platform.

For complex commercial transactions, high-value contracts, litigation-related matters, or any situation where a binding legal opinion is required, we strongly recommend engaging a qualified advocate or solicitor licensed under the Advocates Act, 1961.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Contract Shield and its parent company, officers, directors, employees, and licensors shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to lost profits, data loss, or business interruption, arising from your use of the platform or reliance on any analysis provided.

Our total aggregate liability for any claims arising from your use of the service shall not exceed the total fees paid by you to Contract Shield in the three months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.

Accuracy of AI Analysis

While Contract Shield's AI models are trained on extensive Indian legal data and continuously improved, no AI system is infallible. Contract Shield's analysis may not identify every risk in a contract, may occasionally flag provisions that are not risks in specific contexts, and cannot account for all applicable local laws, sector-specific regulations, or the specific factual context of a transaction.

Users are responsible for their own contract decisions. Contract Shield's analysis is a tool to aid decision-making, not to replace professional legal judgment.
